About Us

Johnston Cooper Elementary School is a unique school located in the heart of Vallejo, California. Established in 1953 Cooper has seen several generations of Vallejo families matriculate through the school and graduate from Vallejo High School. Currently, it is home to 570   students in grades TK-5. The teaching staff is a group of qualified educators dedicated to providing the highest quality Common Core based instruction.  We are a professional learning community, where collaboration meetings focus on data analysis and best instructional practices.  Johnston Cooper is fortunate to have a variety of resources that allow the school staff to constantly grow as educators with the goal of improving academic achievement for all students. In addition to our elementary classrooms we have three Special Education Pre-School classrooms and two Special Day classes; a 1st-3rd grade class and a 4th-5th grade class.
